Three receipts of a Great Synagogue, printed with a Star of David between flowering branches, are dated by the Hebrew calendar to 1931 and 1932 and signed by Hakham Rahamim, so far as the signature can be read. One of them acknowledges a gift made for the honour of Simhat Torah.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo receipts of the synagogue at Darvazeh Shemiran in Tehran raised money for building the synagogue and its school. One is dated in the Hebrew year 5713 (1952 to 1953), and the other, on orange paper, carries the same printed notice on its reverse with the bank account into which gifts could be paid. A receipt from the synagogue on Shah Reza Street, south of Pol-e Chubi, is dated 1334 in the Persian calendar and 5716 in the Hebrew (1955 to 1956), and asks for help in building the synagogue and a kindergarten.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFour coupons issued by the committee of the Darvazeh Shemiran synagogue show Moses holding the Tablets of the Law above the verse ki tidor neder, “when you make a vow”, from Deuteronomy. They are numbered by hand, two of them in sequence, and carry no date.
