1942 The Life of Franklin D. Roosevelt (Arabic) – United States
A rare Arabic-language propaganda comic book published by the U.S. Office of War Information in 1942 to promote the image of President Franklin D. Roosevelt abroad during World War II. The comic narrates Roosevelt’s life story, depicting him as a global symbol of democratic leadership and moral strength.
Printed in twelve languages, including Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Turkish, and Chinese, the total print run reached 561,491 copies for overseas distribution. The English edition, titled The Life of Franklin D. Roosevelt: 32nd President of the United States of America, had a print run of 100,035 copies, almost all sent abroad to U.S. soldiers and allies. Arabic copies were distributed across North Africa, often airdropped along with propaganda materials such as soap cakes and pin buttons featuring Roosevelt depicted in Arab attire.
