This reproduction preserves a satirical cartoon originally published in Behlol magazine in the 1970s, at the height of post-revolution tensions between Iran and the United States. Rendered in bold caricature style, President Jimmy Carter appears as a startled cowboy recoiling from an exploding map of Iran—its outline aflame and inscribed with “ایران”—while anxious Iranian figures clutch pistols behind him, evoking the ongoing embassy hostage crisis and revolutionary defiance of perceived American aggression. The English caption at top reads, “Mr. Carter!
