American Propaganda Leaflet War Rug
Included in Khajistan Press’s *American War Propaganda Leaflets*, this U.S.-produced airdropped leaflet takes the form of a deep-green Afghan war rug. Two stylized maps—one filled with the Stars and Stripes and labeled “امریکا,” the other in Afghanistan’s black-red-green tricolour and labeled “افغانستان”—sit side by side. Above them, a gold-embroidered “دوستی” (friendship) arches over two clasped hands. In each upper corner, photographic insets depict U.S. personnel with Afghan civilians and, opposite, Afghan families, transforming a traditional textile medium into a propaganda message of "solidarity" and "partnership."
