This reproduction of an 18th-century Mughal miniature shows a pair of pigeons framed by floral borders. Painted with delicate brushwork and natural pigments, such images were common in albums of the time and symbolized loyalty, beauty, spirituality and companionship.

Exhibited in “Spasial Program” at SculptureCenter, New York, June 18 –July 28, 2025.
