Original U.S. “Bomb Saddam” Gulf War Political Bumper Sticker, circa 1990–1991
Original U.S. political bumper sticker produced during the Gulf War period by the BOMB SADDAM Committee For A Quick Mideast Peace, Pintlala, Alabama. Addressed to President George H. W. Bush, the sticker condenses empire into a cheerful demand: bomb first, call it peace later.
Operation: Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm
Conflict and War: Gulf War
Year: circa 1990–1991
Country and Theater: United States
Language(s): English
Format: Printed adhesive bumper sticker, single-sided, blank reverse
Size: 3.5 × 11.9 inches
Publisher: BOMB SADDAM Committee For A Quick Mideast Peace, Pintlala, Alabama
Provenance: Acquired from military auction.
Translation:
Front: “President Bush, When you are ready to BOMB SADDAM. We’ll support you 100%.”
Back: Blank reverse.
Imagery: Front shows oversized blue block lettering reading “BOMB SADDAM” on a yellow ground. Smaller text above addresses President Bush, while the lower line pledges “100%” support. The imprint at the bottom identifies the publisher as the BOMB SADDAM Committee For A Quick Mideast Peace, with “World Headquarters, Pintlala, AL 36043.”
Objective: Civilian pro-war propaganda. The sticker turns the Gulf War into a blunt consumer slogan, reducing Iraqi and Kuwaiti suffering, U.S. militarism, oil politics, and regional devastation to a cheerful call for bombing. It reflects how American home-front ephemera normalized distant violence as patriotic display.
Condition: Very good. Original adhesive bumper sticker with bright blue printing on yellow stock, light handling wear, minor creasing, and visible edge wear. Overall clean and sharply legible.
Exhibited in Khajistan: Office of War Information (O.W.I.) at Pioneer Works, New York, May 08 – Aug 09, 2026.
