Original double-sided U.S. psychological operations leaflet produced during Operation Desert Storm. Printed in Arabic, the leaflet urges Iraqi soldiers to choose peace rather than continued loyalty to Saddam Hussein.

    Operation: Operation Desert Storm
    Conflict / War: Gulf War
    Year: 1991
Country / Theater: Iraq / Kuwait
    Language(s): Arabic
    Format: Original printed leaflet, double-sided
Provenance: Airdropped leaflet acquired from the family of a U.S. military commander.

    Translation:
    Front: No direct text.
Back: “My Iraqi brother, what you seek is peace.”

    Imagery:
The front is divided into two contrasting scenes. One side shows an Iraqi soldier surrendering or making peaceful contact after laying down his weapon. The other shows two armed soldiers facing one another while one imagines Saddam Hussein, framing continued loyalty to Saddam as the obstacle to survival and peace.

    Objective:
To encourage Iraqi soldiers to abandon resistance and choose peace by contrasting surrender with continued service to Saddam Hussein. The leaflet presents peace as the Iraqi soldier’s true interest and frames disengagement from combat as a rational, life-preserving choice.
