Khajistan Press exhibits at Printed Matter's NY Art Book Fair 2026. Our table is M13. We were one of the grantees of the Printed Matter Publisher Work Grant.

When: Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2026, with an Opening Night on Thursday 24 September, 7–10 PM.

Four books launch at the table

Hunting Homosexuals in Occupied Iraq — Tharwat al-Hankawi al-Luhaybi, translated from the Arabic by Rami Shaheen. 74 pages, 5 × 8 in, ISBN 978-1-970281-14-9. The Arabic original ran to 800 pages and was published in Amman in 2014. It diagnoses homosexuality as a sickness the American occupation carried into Iraq, reads a haircut or a phone number as evidence of it, and turns the evidence into names. The writer condemns the militias who killed the men he is naming, and records what they did anyway. Our edition is a selection, edited as a critical source edition with a chronology, a glossary and notes, and it opens with a warning about what is in it. At proof now, and launching at the Fair.

Karachi, After Midnight: Volume 3 — Complete Edition — Shams Tabrizi. 590 pages, 5 × 8 in, ISBN 978-1-970281-12-5, $45. The last volume of a gay man's online diary, 2005 to 2009: the earthquake, Benazir Bhutto's assassination, and the years in which everyone he knows gets married and he does not. After more than two thousand nights at the keyboard the diary stops mid-sentence. The three parts are sold separately at $14 — My Ideal Top, Ethics of Temptation, Crush Carousel — and Volume 1, Volume 2 and the two-volume set are in print.

No Unnecessary Contact: A Study of Boy-Girl Relations in Iran — 66 pages, 5 × 8 in, ISBN 978-1-970281-17-0, $10. The first English edition of a manual Iranian state broadcasting issued in 2008 to the people who plan its television, setting out how young men and women may appear together on screen.

An Erection in Pakistan: A Polemical Tract on the Male Body Under a Moral State — published under the pseudonym Shahab Nazir, translated from the Urdu by Anjum Chaudhry, edited by Saad Khan. 5.125 × 8.25 in, ISBN 978-1-970281-20-0. The source circulated in Pakistan as a run of digital images, with no publisher and no name on it. The writer argues against clerical shame with whatever is within reach — Sufi memory, 1930s Urdu magazines, animal research, gossip — reads the country's economic collapse as a sexual famine, and invokes the Islamic principle of necessity against it.
