An original anti-communist jihad poster issued in Peshawar between 1981 and 1985 by Professor Sayyed Mahmood’s Internal Islamic Fronts of Afghanistan. Titled Farjām-e Iblis (فرجام ابلیس, “The Fate of Iblis” / “The Devil’s End”), the poster shows a wounded, hammer-and-sickle-marked figure dragging itself through ruins toward a Kremlin-like structure. The title uses Iblis, the Qur’anic figure of Satan, to frame Soviet communism and the Soviet-backed Kabul regime as spiritually corrupt and doomed. It belongs to the propaganda world of the anti-Soviet jihad, with around 1,000 copies of each design circulated across Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Provenance: Acquired from the family of a former diplomat stationed in Afghanistan during the Soviet–Afghan War (1979–1989).
