A posed photograph of a young Iranian man wearing a “DIOR” sweatshirt, silver chain, rings, and holding black-red tasbih beads, capturing the aesthetics of Tehran’s online Lūti subculture. His gaze, posture, and styling are part of a broader visual grammar where luxury knockoffs, devotional objects, and masculinity overlap. This image, widely circulated on Iranian social media, blurs spiritual affect and street swagger, capturing a self-styled portrait of pride and presence from the periphery. Framed in a vintage gold with a patriotic tricolor mount, the print functions as both homage and self-archive. Featured in our book Kharabat Vol. 1 by Farhad Qashqai.

Exhibited in “Spasial Program” at SculptureCenter, New York, June 18 –July 28, 2025.

Availability: Free pickup on July 29, or worldwide shipping (price excludes shipping).
