Historical context

Jauhar-e-Niswan was mostly patterns for embroidery and stitching, with articles on women’s political contributions and access to education, and recipes. Published from Delhi before Partition, it was publishing from Karachi by March 1948, when it urged readers to set up sewing workshops so that refugee women could earn from handicrafts.
