Original double-sided U.S. and Coalition psychological operations leaflet produced during Operation Desert Storm. Printed as an Arabic “Invitation Card,” the leaflet invites Iraqi soldiers to join the Joint Forces, promising Arab hospitality, safety, security, medical care, and return home after the war.

    Leaflet Number: V26
    Operation: Operation Desert Storm
    Conflict / War: Gulf War
    Year: 1991
Country / Theater: Iraq and Kuwait Theater
    Language(s): Arabic
    Format: Original printed leaflet, double-sided

    Translation:
“From HQ, Joint Forces Command and Theater of Operations. Invitation Card. You are invited to join the Joint Forces and enjoy full Arab hospitality, security, safety, and medical care. You will be returned to your homes as soon as the situation Saddam has placed us in has ended. My brother Iraqi soldier, this invitation is open to you and your comrade soldiers. We hope that you will accept this invitation as soon as you have the opportunity. Commander, Joint Forces in the Theater of Operations.”

Imagery: One side shows Iraqi soldiers being received by Coalition forces, with a meal laid out and a separate scene of an Iraqi soldier presenting the card to an armed Coalition soldier. The reverse contains Arabic text within a border, with a faint Joint Forces seal in the background.

Objective: To encourage Iraqi soldiers to surrender by presenting the Coalition as hospitable, protective, and compliant with accepted treatment of prisoners, while blaming Saddam Hussein for the situation that placed Iraqi soldiers in danger.

Condition: Good condition. Original field example with visible creasing, light staining, minor edge wear, clipped or worn corners, and surface marks. Text and illustrations remain clearly legible.
