    Provenance: Airdropped leaflet acquired from the family of a U.S. military commander.

    Translation:
    Front: “Friendship. America. Afghanistan.”
    Back: “No one has the right to determine your way of life. The coalition countries are helping the people of Afghanistan so they may be saved from the crimes of the Taliban and foreign terrorists.”

    Imagery:
    The front shows a handshake between two hands over maps of the United States and Afghanistan, with family photographs representing American and Afghan civilians. The reverse presents a block of Dari and Pashto text on a green field, emphasizing liberation, partnership, and shared civilian protection.

    Objective:
    To portray the United States and coalition partners as allies of the Afghan people, not occupiers, while encouraging Afghans to reject Taliban control and view coalition action as support for civilian freedom and security.
