    A gay man’s online diary from Pakistan’s dial-up era.

Karachi, After Midnight: VOLUME 1, PART III compiles Shams’s entries from November to December 2003.

Shams writes about gay chat channels as pure transaction, the frustration of being a virgin and not wanting sex the way strangers demand it, and the loneliness underneath the humor.

Ramazan arrives and restructures the city. He describes sehri exhaustion, the madness of roads around aftari, and the sudden intensity of Karachi’s rhythms under fasting time. He moves between desire, guilt, and self-protection without resolving any of it.

December ends with Eid exhaustion and long drives to visit relatives. Through it all, one feeling stays constant: he wants to keep writing.
