    Original double-sided U.S. psychological operations leaflet produced during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Printed in Dari and Pashto, the leaflet promotes public support for Afghanistan’s Interim Administration and frames cooperation with the new government as part of restoring Afghanistan’s national standing.

    Provenance:  Surplus copy retained outside field distribution. Acquired from the personal materials of an unnamed U.S. military servicemember. Never airdropped or field-distributed.

    Translation:
    Front: “Support the Interim Government of Afghanistan.”
    Back: “Help return Afghanistan to its former glory.”

    Objective:
    To encourage Afghan civilians to support Afghanistan’s Interim Administration following the fall of the Taliban government, and to associate the new political order with national recovery, stability, and reconstruction.

    Imagery:
    The front shows prominent figures associated with Afghanistan’s post-Taliban interim government, including Hamid Karzai, Abdullah Abdullah, Sima Samar, and Sayed Hussain Anwari, set against the outline of Afghanistan. The reverse shows a city street scene with large overlaid text calling for Afghanistan’s restoration.
